Amy K. Ringler+Calaway
I inherited an interest in the arts by default. Both of my parents are artisans of varying degree. My father Tony Ringler is a draftsman, engineer, and printer. My mother, Sherry is an accomplished artist and master of many interior and fine finish mediums. I was raised in a very creative and busy household. Together, my parents taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing well and correctly.
I began working with my mother at a very young age, thus the beginning of my education in interior finishes. As her career and bloomed, my knowledge and skill expanded. Through her I have had the benefit of working in some of the finest homes in my community and beautiful estates across the country.
I have studied formal art at the collegiate level as well as private studio studies both in the United States and in Italy.
Scott M. Calaway
My husband and business partner. Scott is a graduate of UC law school and
practices in Dayton, OH. While he has no formal training in the arts, living
with me, he has picked up a few things here and there. He often works on site
with me, much like I did with my mother, he gets to do all of the fun stuff;
building scaffold, prep work, taping, etc. What a lucky guy. Behind the scenes,
he is the sensible one, logical and creative, Scott is the maverick (according
to Jimmy Carter, we all need one of those). He keeps the business end while
I climb the walls.
